How are you planning to usher in the new year? Rather than making New Year’s resolutions, try identifying a theme for the year to come. Let 2014 be the year of low-pain. Work with the specialists at Nevada Pain to reduce your discomfort and live well next year.
Here are a few daily things you can do to help alleviate your pain.
- Eat ginger before taking ibuprofen. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and may help boost the results of over-the-counter pain relievers.
- Use capsaicin ointment. As we discussed before, the natural compound found in peppers has been shown to reduce pain with direct contact. Purchase an ointment or patch at your local pharmacy.
- Take fish oil capsules. Similar to ginger, fish oil is also anti-inflammatory and can help reduce the pain caused by arthritis and other conditions. It is easy to find at most pharmacies or health food stores.
- Get more exercise. Try a new workout, like yoga or tai chi, or find a walking buddy.
