Living With Head Pain

During the course of June, we’ve covered many head pain topics to raise awareness during Migraine and Headache Awareness month. The purpose of this month was meant to shed light on the suffering that people with these pain conditions experience. Through awareness, we can all hope to see better treatments and research for head pain in the coming years.

As part of Migraine and Headache Awareness month also concerns outreach and public education, we’ve also discussed many of the facets of head pain–not just those confined to headache and migraines. If you–or anybody you know–is interested in learning more about the different types of head pain, read in-depth articles on the relationship between TMJ and fibromyalgia, face pain, whiplash, and the different types of headaches.

Since much of the preventative effects on head pain are driven by lifestyle choices such as diet, exercise, and stress, it’s also important to discuss incorporating healthy choices in your life to prevent and relieve pain. These include keeping a pain diary, figuring out your head pain triggers, staying hydrated, exercising, and managing your sleep schedule. By focusing on a holistic approach to pain management, pain relief is more likely especially in the case of the not well understood condition of head pain.
